Question 1

Can we use our own house plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Everyone's needs are different, so our team will either work from the plan you bring us or create a custom design for your home from scratch.

Question 2

Do you handle both design and construction?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer a complete design-build approach and manage both the planning and the construction. One team across both phases means clearer communication and more reliable timelines.

Question 3

Can you customize a remodeling project?

Accepted Answer

Every project is built around the client's goals, space and budget. From materials through to finishes, the details are chosen to fit your vision rather than a standard package.

Question 4

Do you help with material selection?

Accepted Answer

We guide you through material and finish selections with recommendations based on durability, style and budget, so the result is both hard-wearing and visually cohesive.

Question 5

How do we know what the total cost will be?

Accepted Answer

You will have a firm price before financing or construction begins. We track every change through the project and reflect it accurately as we go, so the final number never arrives as a surprise.

Question 6

Do you provide detailed project estimates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our estimates set out scope, materials and expectations in detail, so you can plan with confidence and avoid surprises later in the build.

Question 7

What kind of financing is required?

Accepted Answer

We work with a number of lenders and can walk you through the options for your lot, including construction loans where the project calls for one.

Question 8

Can we make changes while it is being constructed?

Accepted Answer

Changes are part of the process and we can accommodate them. Some carry an added cost, and we tell you which ones do before any work happens, so nothing is decided without you.

Question 9

How long do projects usually take?

Accepted Answer

Timelines vary with scope and complexity. We set out a clear timeline upfront and keep you informed throughout, working efficiently without cutting corners on quality.

Question 10

Can you work on an occupied home?

Accepted Answer

We regularly work in occupied homes and take extra care to limit disruption. Clean work practices, organised scheduling and clear communication keep the process as smooth as it can be.

Question 11

Do I need a permit for my remodel?

Accepted Answer

Many Bay Area remodeling projects do. Whether yours needs one depends on the type and scale of the work. We handle the permit applications and approvals as part of the project, so nothing stalls once the build is underway.

Question 12

Are you licensed and insured?

Accepted Answer

Roy's Builders is a fully licensed and insured remodeling contractor, CSLB licence number 1048451. Safety, code compliance and professional standards are a priority on every project.

Question 13

Do you coordinate inspections?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We coordinate the required inspections throughout the project so all work meets local codes and the build keeps moving correctly and on schedule.
